OBERLIN, Kan.. -- Eleanor Jean Boyle, 78, died Tuesday (Feb. 7, 2017), at Monroe, Wash.

She was born July 18, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Glen and Jeanette (Boyde) Snyder. She lived in Bedford and Elwood, Neb., before moving to Oberlin in 2007.

She worked at the Elwood Care Center and operated EB Ceramics out of her home. She married Edward Walston on Oct. 29, 1955, in Bedford.

She was a member of United Church of Oberlin, Modern Woodmen, and Golden Age Center in Oberlin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Walston; parents, Glen and Jeanette Snyder; brothers, Harold, Don and Paul Snyder; sisters, Lucille McCandless and Ruth Longfellow; and one great-grandson, Teagan Gish.

Survivors include children, Curtis (Chris) Walston of Oberlin, Vickie (Karl) Sillers of Monroe, Brenda Amundson of Port Angelus, Wash., and Mechele (Dave) Keil of Omaha, Neb.; brothers, Leo (Donna Sue) Snyder of Wilcox, Ariz., and Edward (Cathy) Snyder of Ellensberg, Wash.; sisters, Ferne Mingus of Lincoln, Neb., Donna Mae Pittman of Bedford, Iowa, and Betty (Larry) Cook of Glenwood, Iowa; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 3 p.m at Pauls Funeral Home with the Rev. Gordon Pettibone officiating.
