No tricks, 'Treating for the pantry'

Friday, October 21, 2016

McCOOK, Neb. -- Area youth groups will be hitting the streets next week seeking non-perishable food item donations to support the McCook Pantry. "Treating for the Pantry" will take place from Sunday, Oct. 23, to Sunday, Oct. 30.

The project is part of a collective effort from churches within the Red Willow County Ministerial Association to collect non-perishable food items for the community pantry and to assist those in need.

The association hopes to raise awareness in advance as area churches and their youth groups begin travelling door-to-door seeking donations. Residents not home when volunteers approach may bring donation items to the pantry at their convenience, open 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, in the Canterbury House south of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 509 West 1st Street, in McCook.
