McCOOK, Neb. -- Lewis Earl Cackler passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at McCook at the age of 86.

He was born on Dec. 19, 1929, in Driftwood Township to Jesse and Florence (Randal) Cackler south of Culbertson.

With the exception of a time when he lived in Lincoln and worked as a prison guard, he lived in McCook. He mostly worked as a house painter. He also did tattoos at his home. He was known as Louie to his friends and acquaintances.

He always said he'd live to be 120, but unfortunately there were other plans.

He lived out his last days at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

His dynamic personality will be greatly missed by all.

He was a past member of the McCook Eagles. He enjoyed fishing and always caught his limit.

Survivors include his son, Steven Cackler of Denver, Colo.; daughter, Chrystal and Bob Lloyd of Spring Valley, Ariz.; companion, Tomasa Jarvis of McCook; four grandchildren, Jim, Eric, Laura and Jesse and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, 201,6 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Bales officiating. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery
