Interest from the bequest will be used to fund the scholarships. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1942 and was inducted into the U.S. Navy on Nov. 1, 1943. He served throughout the Pacific Theatre of War on various LST's earning several battle stars. Upon returning to civilian life after the war, he attended and graduated from McCook Community College in 1948.
