Salaries, bids OK'd
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- New salaries and bids for the Valentine extended campus were approved by the Mid-Plains Community College board of governors Wednesday night.
President Ryan Purdy's contract was extended for a third year, and his base salary set at $220,000, increasing to $226,600 in fiscal 2017-18. There was no guarantee in base salary for the third year.
Part-time and full-time administration, excluding the college president, were approved for a 2.215 percent salary increase, with a 62 cents per hour increase approved for part-time classified staff.
That hourly increase was the same increase set for full-time members of classified staff in a negotiated agreement.
Adjunct faculty will receive an additional $25 per credit hour, from $725 to $750.
Several bids were approved for items for construction of an extended campus in Valentine.
They include $66,160 for doors and hardware; $191,271 for framing, roofing, sidling, soffit and fascia; $83,550 for flooring; $75,559 for faming and glazing; $101,952 for a pre-engineered metal building package.
In other business:
* Purdy was authorized to sign agreements allowing a sewer line to be built across the North Platte Community College north campus.
* The board heard reviews of the Associate of Applied Science in Business and Fire Science Technology programs for forwarding to the Nebraska's Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education.
* The board heard first reading on an identity theft policy required by federal law.
The board will meet again at 6:30 p.m. MDT June 22 at the Imperial Extended Campus.
