Valarie Ann (Boehm) Schneider

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. -- Valarie Ann (Boehm) Schneider, 65, of Casa Grande passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015, in Santa Clarita, California. A Rosary service will be Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Julesburg.

A memorial mass will be on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Julesburg, Colorado, with Father O'Brien celebrating. Inurnment will follow at the Ovid Cemetery.

Val was born on May 25, 1950, in Julesburg to Walter and Inez (Schultz) Boehm. She was the second of three children. She attended school at Julesburg Elementary and graduated from Julesburg High School. On June 5, 1968, she married Robert (Bob) Schneider in Julesburg. They were married for 43 years. They were blessed with two children, Michael and Tanya.

Val worked as a receptionist for many years at Sedgwick County Memorial Hospital, then as a legal secretary in McCook, Nebraska, and Casa Grande, Arizona.

Before the death of her husband, she enjoyed the Arizona weather while riding with Bob on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and friend who enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.

Val was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Inez (Schultz) Boehm; husband, Robert (Bob); father-in-law, John Schneider; mother-in-law, Florence (Rhine) Schneider; brother-in-law, James Schneider; and sister-in-law, Barbara Holm.

She is survived by her son, Michael Schneider and wife, Carolyn of Sydney, Nebraska; daughter, Tanya Catterson and husband, Tim of Castaic, California; two grandchildren, Ryan and Kristen Catterson; sister, Collette Shanks (Craig) of Dumas, Texas; brother, Brian Boehm (Jeanie) of Julesburg, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Carol Amen (Ed) of Merino, Colorado, and Susan Marymee (Don) of Brush, Colorado; brothers-in-law, John (Karla) of Windsor, Colorado, Harold (Dianna) of Ovid, Colorado, Raymond (Patricia) of Longmont, Donald (Tammy) of Ovid, Colorado, and Larry (Tanya) of Ovid, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
