SELDEN, Kan. -- Eleanor Rogers, 91, died Monday (Feb. 16, 2015), at Citizens Medical Center in Colby, Kansas.

She was born Nov. 10. 1923, in rural Selden to Gottfried and Sarah (McDonald) Mumm. She grew up in Sheridan and Decatur counties. She graduated from Selden rural high school in 1942. She married Stanley Rogers on Feb. 21, 1944, in Abilene, Texas. She was a wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Ann Altar Society in Selden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Sarah Mumm; husband, Stanley Rogers; an infant son; four brothers, Hubert, Frederick "Fritz," Sylvester and Gottfried "Bernard" Mumm; three sisters, Anogene Rogers, Alberta Ritter and Juliann Mumm; and granddaughter, Donna Handy.

Survivors include her children, Donald and wife, Kathy of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Dennis and wife, Marla Rogers of Selden, Mary and husband, Cecil "Bud" Smith, Marilyn and husband Paul "Rick" Bailey and Sara and husband, Steve Juenemann, all of Colby, Kansas; brothers, Bud and wife, Vicky Mumm of Gem, Clem and wife, Pat Mumm of Colby and Kenny Mumm of Selden; sisters, Josephine Douglas of Galeton, Colorado, Margaret Roy of Atwood, Kansas, Dolores Raile of Hoxie, Kansas, Clara and husband, Dick Newton of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and Judy and husband, Gordon Smith of Greeley, Colorado; sister-in-law, Gail Mumm of Selden; 14 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

Services are Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden. Interment is at the Selden Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden and from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church in Selden with a vigil service at 7 p.m. and on Friday after 8 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her name.
