HASTINGS, Neb. -- Roberta McLaughlin, 91, of Hastings, Nebraska, died Monday (Feb. 9, 2015), at Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.

She was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Moorefield, Nebraska, toJames Robert and Maude May (Todd) McLaughlin. She graduated from Moorefield High School. She worked Boeing Aircraft plant during World War II and later, as a supervisor in United Airlines flight kitchen for over 30 years in Omaha, Nebraska. Following retirement she owned and operated a doughnut shop in Omaha. She later moved to Hastings.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, James Robert and Maude May McLaughlin; three sisters, Lois Hoppe, Helen Hosick and Verna Sweet; nephews, Gene Hoppe and Dennis Hosick and niece, Lana Howes.

Survivors include by nieces and nephews, Mary Ellen (Rex) Stewart of Arkansas, Carol Werner of Colorado, Glen (Marlene) Hoppe of Doniphan, Nebraska, Robert (Judy) Hosick of Curtis, Nebraska, Illa Jo (Mervin) Zysset Farnam, Nebraska, Darryl (Freda) Hosick of Stockville, Nebraska, Les (Jan) Hosick of Wellfleet, Nebraska, Jim Sweet of Hansen, Nebraska, Sherryl Welton of Hastings, and many extended family members.

Graveside services are Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, 3:30 p.m. at Moorefield Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Nicklas officiating. Burial is at the Moorefield Cemetery in Moorefield.

Visitation is Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, from 12 p.m. to 2:30 pm. at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Curtis.

Memorials may be given to the Moorefield Cemetery or donor's choice.
