McCOOK, Nebraska -- Colorado Rockies baseball not only has a new manager in former player Walt Weiss this season, not to mention a return to the playoffs in the team's sights, but it also has a new home on Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas airwaves.

High Plains Radio has announced that their AM station, 1300 KBRL, will be broadcasting the Rockies' games, starting with the upcoming 2013 baseball season. The Major League Baseball coverage joins a schedule that features nationally syndicated programs from Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mike Huckabee, the popular local morning show Open Line, and sports talk from Fox Sports Radio.

"We are thrilled with our new partnership with the Colorado Rockies," said High Plains Radio General Manager Bryan Loker. "The partnership further exemplifies KBRL's commitment to providing McCook and Southwest Nebraska the best in news and entertainment programming."

The Rockies Radio Network broadcast team is made up of 28-year veteran Jack Corrigan, who handles the play by play duties, and Jerry Schemmel, whose 18 years of broadcasting experience includes two years with the network.

Rockies coverage on 1300 KBRL will begin on MLB's opening day, April 1, when Colorado travels to Milwaukee to take on the Brewers.

High Plains Radio is a part of Armada Media Corporation, which owns and operates nine radio stations across the tri-state area, including 1300 KBRL, as well as FM stations 96.1 KICX, 103.9 The Hawk, and 101.1 KFNF.
